Review & Description
Franklin and Mary Lou had gone together in high school. Then they had split up, but had never truly gotten over each other. After a tour in the Navy, Franklin had returned to his home town in New Mexico.
Franklin was not ambitious by today's standards since he only works enough to get by. He runs his coon hounds up and down the river at night . He is single and lives in a tar paper shack, which doesn't have many of the comforts of home. He is happy and content living the simple life.
Then he runs onto Mary Lou again, who wants to renew their high school romance. The problem is that she is married. He didn't want to have an affair with a married woman though since that is a good way to get shot.
Mary Lou is a real estate woman and gets Franklin to do some carpentry work for her fixing her houses so they would be easier to sell.
So they slowly get involved, but Franklin wonders if he wants to abandon his simple life for a more complicated one.
Sex scenes are causally thrown in to make the story more interesting and realistic. Read more
